Mr. Omar Overman (ASSISTANT- SECRETARY)
Omar Overman is a Communications and Information Coordinator at Lobi Health Center Foundation (Suriname) with 10 + years experience in Communications and Media, including Suriname Red Cross focusing on Humanitarian Work, Disaster Preparedness and Response, Healthy Lifestyle and Sexual Health.
Experienced in youth engagement as volunteer, national representative and Chair of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Caribbean Sub-Regional Youth Committee; experienced in health education in HIV/STI prevention, advocating Behavioral Change Education. Studied Business Informatics at the University of Applied Science and Technology Suriname.
Has a deeply personal conviction not to encroach on the freedoms of others; to advocate for equity and equality for the marginalized specially Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals and most of all Transgenders.
Strongly believes that “the best investment for a lifetime is to educate people” (Guan Zhong). Education and transformation takes time but it is a worthwhile effort tat our society should invest in.
