The Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) is pleased to introduce its Board of Directors for 2026–2028. The Board brings together medical, legal, academic, youth advocacy, gender justice and organisational leadership experience from across the Caribbean.
President • Guyana
At 29 years old, Dr Bernard McDavid embodies resilience, dedication and hope as a medical professional from Georgetown, Guyana.
Growing up amid discrimination and limited access to health care, he saw the urgent need for medical intervention in his community. He pursued medical education with unwavering determination, overcoming financial obstacles and societal expectations.
After excelling in his studies at the University of Guyana, he was appointed Doctor in Charge of a district hospital in a hinterland region. He is an active member of Paws for a Cause Foundation, the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD), Caribbean Vulnerable Communities and the Guyana Cancer Society. He enjoys reading, swimming and playing chess.
Vice President • Trinidad and Tobago
Jade Trim is an MPhil student and Research Assistant at the Institute for Gender and Development Studies (IGDS), The University of the West Indies, with a passion for gender justice advocacy. She considers herself and her work influenced by socialist, Caribbean, transnational, eco and queer feminisms.
Jade has been part of the feminist undergraduate student mentorship group IGDS Ignite since 2016 and became its coordinator in 2023. As coordinator, she has led campaigns on and off campus that raise awareness of gender-based violence, Caribbean solidarity with Palestine, climate justice and the need for free potable water on campus.
She is committed to helping young people become compassionate, historically conscious critical thinkers who understand the need for transnational solidarity and are empowered to create a world without injustice. She believes “a better world is possible.”
Secretary • Antigua and Barbuda
Sherry Ann Bradshaw is an experienced legal professional with 18 years of practice in contentious and non-contentious civil matters. She brings strong knowledge of the laws of Antigua and Barbuda and the Civil Procedure Rules 2000, with a record of managing complex cases and projects with precision and efficiency.
A trained mediator, she combines legal expertise, sound judgement, negotiation and problem-solving skills to achieve practical outcomes. Known for her diligence, clear communication and attention to detail, Sherry Ann works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Her mediation training brings an additional dimension to her legal practice, with an emphasis on constructive problem-solving and resolution. She combines strong advocacy and negotiation skills with patience, sound judgement and meticulous attention to detail.
Trustee • Antigua and Barbuda
Dr Dane Abbott is a leading gynaecologist in Antigua and Barbuda whose medical practice has been closely connected to women’s reproductive health for more than three decades.
Since 1990, he has provided care through The Women’s Clinic, including abortion services, with particular attention to women facing vulnerability and barriers to accessing care. A longstanding advocate for reproductive rights, Dr Abbott is a founding member of ASPIRE Antigua, a coalition working to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
He is also a claimant in a High Court challenge to Antigua and Barbuda’s current abortion law, arguing that aspects of the law are unconstitutional. His professional commitment to women’s health is complemented by a strong family life. Dr Abbott is married and is the father of five children and grandfather of one.
Trustee • Grenada
Dr Tonia Frame is a public health and development professional with expertise in sexual and reproductive health and rights, health education, gender-based violence and project management. She holds a PhD in Reproductive Health from the University of Leeds and works as a public health consultant and global health educator.
She believes in a world where every person controls their sexuality and reproduction without discrimination and looks forward to working with stakeholders to strengthen the GPPA in meeting the sexual and reproductive health needs of all Grenadians.
Dr Frame is a former Programme Manager for Health at the European Union Delegation to the Eastern Caribbean Countries, OECS and CARICOM/CARIFORUM, and a former President of the Grenada Public Health Association. She is a member of the Grenada Chronic Non-Communicable Disease Commission and an Advisor to the Board of GrenCHAP. Her interests include adolescent and youth SRHR, eliminating violence against women and girls, engaging men and boys in family planning, and integrating sexual and reproductive health into primary health care.

Lady Anande is an attorney with more than 32 years of legal experience and holds an MA in Law and Development. She is Managing Partner of Joseph & Joseph and a former President of the Grenada Bar Association.
A recognised advocate for gender equality, rule of law, transformational leadership, sustainability and anti-corruption, she is a founding member and Chairperson of the Grenada Integrity Commission and has chaired the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies.
Lady Anande has served as Solicitor General of Grenada and held leadership roles with national, regional and international organisations, including the Guyana Bar Association, Guyana Association of Women Lawyers and UN Women’s Caribbean Civil Society Advisory Group. She has also contributed to regional research and publications on juvenile justice and constitutional reform.
Treasurer • Grenada
Jonté Pierre is a student at St. George’s University, a youth advocate and Vice President of the Youth Advocacy Movement of the Grenada Planned Parenthood Association (GPPA).
Having represented Grenada at the 2024 IPPF International Conference, he brings experience in youth advocacy, public speaking and community service, with a particular interest in creating spaces where young people can engage meaningfully.
Member • Jamaica
Dr Anna Kasafi Perkins is a Senior Programme Officer with the Quality Assurance Unit and also serves on The UWI Ethics Committee in Jamaica. She holds a PhD in Theological Ethics from Boston College and teaches and researches in ethics, justice, popular culture, sexuality, theology, scripture and quality assurance.
She is a member of the National Bioethics Committee of Jamaica and the Legal Aid Council of Jamaica, and is a former Dean of Studies and lecturer at St Michael’s Theological College.
A published author, her recent publications include Ethics Amidst COVID-19: A Brief Ethics Handbook for Caribbean Policymakers and Leaders (2020), co-authored with Professor R. Clive Landis, and Rough Riding: Tanya Stephens and the Power of Music to Transform Society (2021), co-edited with Adwoa Onuora and Ajamu Nangwaya.
Member • Trinidad and Tobago
Kelsie Joseph is an international award-winning intersectional feminist activist, organiser and chalk artist from Trinidad and Tobago.
She graduated from The University of the West Indies with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and minors in Gender and Development Studies and Criminology.
She is the Project Lead of Catcalls of UWI and uses story-sharing, chalk graffiti, cyber activism and community-based interventions to combat street harassment and gender-based violence.
Chief Executive Officer, CFPA • Guyana
Rev. Patricia S. Bisnauth is a gender and development specialist and theologian whose work has focused on gender justice, social transformation and the partnership of women and men across the Caribbean and internationally.
Her work sits at the intersection of gender, faith, culture, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Patricia holds degrees in Theology and Social Work, with studies in Guyana, Jamaica and the United States.
Her writing has appeared in more than 15 academic journals, books and professional publications. She has also edited nine books and developed two gender manuals, including From Hierarchy to Partnership: Promoting Positive Masculinities.
Board Advisor • Jamaica / USA
Dr Fred Nunes is the former Head of Management Studies at The University of the West Indies, Mona. He helped create access to The UWI for residents of non-campus countries.
He has worked with UNDP/CARICAD in Barbados and PAHO in Guyana. He conducted research and led the process for abortion law reform in Guyana, and conducted a review of CFPA to strengthen its regional positioning.
Retired from the World Bank, Dr Nunes remains active as a management consultant.

Roxanne Christopher is a former Board President of CFPA and Teen Services Bermuda.
Roxanne brings expertise in marketing, project management, business development, strategic direction, fundraising and communications. Her appointment brought a fresh perspective to the organisation, characterised by a resolute, empowering voice. With extensive experience across multiple sectors, Roxanne’s insights support profound and enduring impact throughout the region.
