The Foundation for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood (FPRP-Aruba)
FPRP-Aruba has an exclusive mandate from the Government of Aruba to address the Sexual and Reproductive Health information, education and service needs of adolescents on in the country. As part of its mandate, FPRP – Aruba conducts comprehensive sexuality education sessions in schools, provides comprehensive sexuality education training sessions to teachers attending the local teacher training college, conducts public information campaigns, and provides contraceptive services to adolescents.
FPRP – Aruba continues to demonstrate the power of public relations and marketing on the ability of small associations to increase access to sexual and reproductive health services for people in need. The effect of the public relations initiatives executed by the Foundation has been an enhanced visibility of the Foundation, with more people being made aware of the Sexual and Reproductive Health challenges on the island. As a result, the demand for the services of the Foundation has increased. It must be noted that the Foundation for the Promotion of Responsible Parenthood celebrated its 45th anniversary during 2015. As part of the celebrations, the Affiliate in Aruba launched a publication of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Declaration of Sexual Rights in the local Papiamento language.
