Mellissa is the Vice President of the Board the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) and also serves as the President of the Antigua Planned Parenthood Association. She is a passionate Community Activist, who has worked extensively in the “Prevention and care and treatment environment”. She is employed as a Program Associate with UNDP Antigua and Barbuda. Mellissa also worked as a Program Officer of a Regional NGO which specialised in the HIV/AIDS prevention program targeting the “Most at Risk Population”. Mellissa is a strong Advocate for the LGBT rights, and works especially with MSMs and transgendered persons.
Mellissa Johnson served as the Health and Wellness Director at the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross, where she spearheaded the first Zika Prevention Program, that reached over 35,000 Community members in the twin island. She considers herself to be a passionate community servant with the ability to motivate and inspire individuals in identifying their potential to continue and share this passion to serve others.
