Patricia Sheerattan-Bisnauth is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Caribbean Family Planning Affiliation (CFPA) and former Executive Director of the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association. She is a gender and development specialist and theologian with extensive experience in addressing gender justice and promoting partnership of women and men in the Caribbean and internationally. Patricia has over fifteen years of professional management experience in gender justice, sexual and reproductive health rights and community development. She is experienced in transformative leadership and change management to effectively respond to strategic and financial challenges and governance.
Patricia has skills in analytical and transformative approaches to global justice issues, particularly in, Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR), Gender and Economic Justice and Climate Change, and brings a critical understanding of the influence of beliefs, values, cultural norms and socio-economic conditions to the understanding of SRHR.
Patricia has degrees in Theology and Social Work from Guyana, Jamaica and the USA. She has lived in Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Switzerland, the USA and Antigua and Barbuda, and has travelled to more than fifty countries across all regions of the world, primarily for work on gender justice.
Patricia has published more than fifteen articles in academic journals, books and manuals, and has edited nine books and developed two gender manuals, including, From Hierarchy to Partnership: Promoting Positive Masculinities.
