CFPA is the only organization in the Caribbean devoted entirely to sexual and reproductive health. It is currently a twelve-member network that promotes high-quality services and critical information throughout the region. CFPA’s focus is on governance, fundraising, and capacity building among its members. It has a reputation for its expertise and campaigns that address a range of sexual and reproductive health issues.
In 2013, CFPA renewed sustained calls on Caribbean governments to address the issue of adolescent pregnancy with greater urgency. We have also rallied partners and governments to support the adoption of a draft OECS Reproductive Health Care and Services Bill which seeks to harmonize many of the laws of countries across the OECS (Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States) region.
CFPA members are the main providers of sexual and reproductive health services in their countries, inclusive of contraception services, breast and cervical cancer screening, HIV testing, and the provision of comprehensive sexuality education. They are involved in preventing HIV infection, especially among young people, and provide vital health services and educational materials.
CFPA connects our members to the global movement for sexual and reproductive rights and ensures their long-term sustainability by providing technical assistance in areas such as program planning, organizational development, and fundraising. Together, we build strong institutions and healthy communities throughout the Caribbean.
